The 9th edition of Enoforum confirms its itinerant nature and moves to the Vicenza Fair Congress Center. The new venue follows Montesilvano (PE), which hosted the event in its early days (2000 and 2001), the Scuola Enologica di Conegliano (TV), which in the 2003 edition already saw several hundred participants , then Piacenza Expo for the next three editions until 2009, where the exhibition space was added to the two halls, and finally Arezzo Fiere, which in the last two editions (2011 and 2013) ensured sufficient space to host an event that, with more than a thousand participants, has become the largest congress in the sector at the European level.

From May 5-7, 2015, the modular spaces of the Vicenza Fair Convention Center will be transformed into two 500- and 300-seat conference halls, where the results of more than 100 research studies from around the world will be presented.

The papers to be presented have been selected for their ability to produce innovation: that is, they are research of a high scientific level but with results that are applicable by industry, some even already being proposed commercially.

This is a key feature of Enoforum, which distinguishes it from all other conferences and has made it a real moment for technicians, researchers and suppliers to meet and compare notes. An important number of papers that will be presented orally at Enoforum have been evaluated by an international Scientific Committee composed of 52 researchers, including 28 Italians and 24 foreigners, who selected the most innovative research by nominating them for the two SIVE Research for Development Awards: the VERSINI 2015 Award, reserved for Italian authors and dedicated to the late Trentino researcher, and the OENOPPIA 2015 Award, also open to foreign researchers and supported financially from this year by the International Association for Oenological Products and Practices as part of its activities to support innovation.

The 2015 edition of Enoforum will give even more space to tasting: in a room equipped for 60 people, technicians will be able to sensory experience wines derived from experimental theses or produced by applying innovative technologies. The poster space, where about 60 papers are expected, will complete the overview of research from the past two years. In the exhibition area, numerous companies will provide their technicians for a discussion on the latest developments in technology.

Because of its importance at the international level, Enoforum 2015 will also host sessions presenting the results of three European projects that have already been launched: ECO-PROWINE, which focused on the sustainability of wineries; INNOVINE, which aimed to develop varieties and viticultural techniques adapted to the future of European viticulture; and STABIWINE, which developed new products for tartaric and protein stabilization of wines. The activities of two other projects in the start-up phase, WINETWORK on wood diseases and FOODLAB on innovation support tools in the food industry, will also be described.

SEMINARS

Comprehensive treatises on current topics of an oenological or viticultural nature. Speakers, invited by the organization for their particular expertise on the subject matter, will present the results of their research by placing them within the framework of current knowledge on the subject.

MODULES

Moments run in collaboration with companies in the field that invest in research and innovation. Each module is devoted to a specific theme, and consists of multiple papers in which public and private research results are displayed, with extensive application details.

ORAL PRESENTATIONS ITALIAN RESEARCH

All papers received by the deadline were evaluated by a Scientific Committee of Italian academics and researchers, who identified those to be the subject of an oral presentation by the lead author.
