Great success for the first edition of Enoforum Web Contest
The best ranked papers will be presented during Enoforum Web Conference in February 2021
More than 100 abstracts from 13 countries were submitted to participate in the first edition of ENOFORUM WEB CONTEST, a global virtual competition, organized by Vinidea, that offers the scientific community an opportunity to showcase innovative research in the vine-wine industry. The winning research paper will be awarded 10,000 euros earmarked for the lead author’s research fund.
The large international participation and interest in this initiative was achieved thanks to the support of the most important industry organizations that care about innovation: International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), Italian Society of Viticulture and Enology (SIVE), French Institute of Vine and Wine (IFV), Wine Technology Platform (PTV), International Society of Viticulture and Enology (IVES), South African Society for Enology and Viticulture (SASEV), Australian Society of Viticulture and Enology (ASVO), International Association of Oenological Products and Practices (OENOPPIA), International Enology and Bottling Equipment Exhibition (SIMEI), Association of Italian Oenologists (ASSOENOLOGI) and Union des Oenologues de France.
The first evaluation phase has begun: the Scientific Committee, composed this year of 86 experts from 17 countries, will evaluate abstracts based on the criterion “relevance to modern and innovative wine production.” The prize evaluation procedure is combined with the definition of the scientific program of Enoforum Web Conference, which will be held online from February 23-25, 2021: the authors of the best ranked papers, which will be announced in January 2021, will be selected for the prize and invited to present their research orally.
