The Nov. 6, 2020 deadline for joining EWC 2021 is approaching, with many researchers from various wine countries already participating.
The initiative is attracting growing interest in the scientific world and continues to garner support among leading industry organizations that care about innovation.

In recent weeks they have confirmed their support:

  • OENOPPIA, International Association of Oenological Products and Practices, which is sponsoring the initiative and establishing a Special Award to the best-scoring research dealing with oenological products and/or practices
  • The SIMEI Fair, organized by Unione Italiana Vini from November 16-19, 2021 in Milan, Italy, in addition to supporting EWC establishes a special award that will go to the best-rated research among those involving innovations presented at SIMEI
  • ASSOENOLOGI, the Association of Italian Oenologists, will give a special award to the best-ranked Italian researcher, and fund simultaneous translation into Italian at the Enoforum Web Conference in February 2021
  • UNION DES OENOLOGUES DE FRANCE will fund simultaneous translation into French of the papers presented at Enoforum Web Conference, thus enabling a large number of French technicians to learn about innovations developed around the world

Enoforum Web Contest is a global competition, organized by Vinidea, which offers the scientific community an opportunity to showcase their innovative research in the vine-wine field. The winning work will be paid a sum of €10,0000, which will be paid to the lead author’s home institution.

The judging process for the award-nominated papers is coupled with the establishment of the scientific program for the Enoforum Web Conference, which will be held digitally from Feb. 23-25, 2021, with an expected audience of more than 2,000 participants from the top 20 wine-producing countries. The Enoforum Web Contest is open to wine researchers from around the world employed in public research.

Authors who wish to apply for the Enoforum Web Contest can submit one or more papers developed in the last 3 years by filling out a simple online form by November 6, 2020. For each submitted work, an abstract in English and in the original language must be provided (maximum length for each abstract 1,800 characters including spaces).

Full details on the evaluation process and how to participate are available in the Enoforum Web Contest announcement.

All researchers employed in public research centers, including candidates for the award, are invited to serve on the Scientific Committee. If interested, you must give your availability by November 6, 2020, through a simple online application form.
