ENOFORUM, A REAL SUCCESS
The important technical and scientific review of the Italian wine scene confirms a significant increase in visitors.
In three intense days of study and analysis, from March 21 to 23, 2005, also characterized by profitable business meetings in the exhibition part, the fourth edition of Enoforum attracted an average of more than 600 technicians, researchers and professional operators of the sector to Piacenza each day, far exceeding the already flattering number of attendees recorded in the last edition in 2003. The presence of some qualified foreign visitors, particularly from France, was also significant.
A few numbers, related to the various moments of the event, may give a better idea.
The SIVE Conference was attended by 26 speakers, 11 of them from abroad, and was supported by 10 leading companies in the wine industry.
In the poster space, 70 papers were presented, proposed by leading Italian universities and research institutes, as well as some firms related to the wine environment.
The Tecnovitis Technology Square offered some 20 companies the opportunity for meetings of definite interest.
The tastings featured more than 100 wines offered for tasting, including experimental wines, the 21 foreign wines from TopGDO, a selection of 26 wines from Piacenza presented by some of the region’s most significant producers, and 68 wines from the Historic Vines Tasting Stand, run by the ONAV of Lombardy.
A success, no doubt about it.
A success to which the well-known organizational ability of the Vinidea staff certainly contributed, which, on behalf of the SIVE (Italian Society of Viticulture and Enology), an association founded in 1995 to which several hundred oenological and agronomic technicians from all over Italy refer, coordinated and supervised in an excellent way this long-awaited moment, essential for the growth and affirmation, in matters of progress and scientific research, of the oenological world in Italy and abroad.
During the three-day event, many stimuli were offered to debate, explain, deepen through the seminars held by both internationally renowned researchers and companies to present products and innovations in the field, the turnout of operators and the public was remarkable, the satisfaction of exhibitors and visitors visible. The large influx of visitors, in particular, confirms the nationwide importance of this exhibition.
An ever-growing event, therefore, with its own well-defined identity and, therefore, of great interest to all those who work in the wine sector, Enoforum responded, among other things, to the various needs of producers, presenting vineyard and cellar equipment, as well as new winemaking experiences, demonstrating the high qualification achieved by Italian technology and research in enology.
